Scholarships for Graduate Students
Graduate Dean’s I
Only international students, who have been accepted to a Master’s program, with an undergraduate GPA of 3.1-3.19 or a Graduate GPA of 3.5-3.59 are eligible for this award. This scholarship provides $2,500 toward tuition for the academic year (fall and spring).
Graduate Dean’s II
Any student accepted to a Master’s degree program with a 3.2-3.29 undergraduate or 3.7+ (U.S. resident) or 3.6-3.69 (International student) Graduate GPA is eligible for this award. This scholarship provides EITHER full-instate tuition for Louisiana residents OR $5,000 toward out-of-state tuition for the academic year (fall and spring).
Full Graduate Dean’s Scholarship
Any student accepted to a Master’s degree program with a 3.3+ undergraduate or 3.7+ graduate GPA is eligible for this award. This scholarship provides a waiver of tuition and the nonresident fee for the academic year (fall and spring).
Marcus B. Christian Graduate Scholarship
African-American and other U.S. minority students accepted to Doctoral or Master’s degree programs with a 3.0+ undergraduate GPA or a 3.25+ Master’s GPA are eligible for this award. Strong preference is given to Louisiana residents and to graduates of Southern University in New Orleans and other historically black institutions. This scholarship provides a waiver of tuition and the nonresident fee for the academic year (fall and spring).
The following requirements must be met before a student may apply for a scholarship.
- Student must be admitted to the UNO Arts Administration Program
- Official GRE/GMAT scores must be on file.
- Official transcripts must be on record.
- To maintain scholarships, a cumulative graduate GPA of 3.25 is required.
- Deadline March 15 must be met with ALL materials (including recommendation letter from the department)
Graduate Assistantships
The Arts Administration Program offers a limited number of Graduate Assistantships (GA’s). Applications are included in your packet, or you can go on-line at http://grad.uno.edu/gradlinks/GA/other.html.
Since opportunities for Graduate Assistantships change year to year, we suggest that students wishing to pursue an assistantship position call and ask about what positions are open and the required qualifications.
GA’s receive a tuition exemption for each semester in which they are employed. They are considered state residents for fee purposes only. However, GA’s are responsible for any other fees assessed. While holding a GA position, no additional employment is allowed without the special approval of the Dean of the Graduate School, and must maintain a course load of at least 9 credit hours in the Fall or Spring semesters and 6 credit hours during the Summer.

Currently residents from the following states seeking a Masters of Arts in Arts Administration at UNO may qualify for Louisiana in-state tuition within the terms of the Academic Common Market: |

On Campus Housing
UNO has three separate types of air-conditioned, on-campus housing to meet the needs of the diverse student body. A $150.00 deposit and a $50 application fee are required for all student housing accommodations.
